Sanguine Estate Music Festival

Welcome to the Sanguine Estate Music Festival, February 28 - March 2 2014.

With the last notes of Boccherini's gorgeous Stabat Mater still ringing in our ears (and now accessible on YouTube as a souvenir!) we're delighted to present the 2013 festival programme. We'd like to thank everyone who made the inaugural festival such a resounding success - the fabulous artists, wine partner Sanguine Estate, food partner Monsieur Pierre, sponsors, volunteers, and of course the wonderfully enthusiastic audience who came from far and wide to enjoy extraordinary music, wine, food and company in this beautiful and intimate setting. We're not about to change a winning team, and look forward to seeing our new-found family again – with friends! - in 2013. One addition to the team: we're thrilled that Brett Dean is able to join us – with his staggering success as a composer it's easy to forget he is a formidable violist too!

There will again be five concerts spanning the weekend, and with Brett joining Tobias we are featuring this viola dream team in two glorious sextets (Boccherini and Dvorak). The very popular Inside the Music concert this time addresses Mozart's famous G minor piano quartet, and Ian and Hoang's combined pianistic firepower will be electrifying in a rare gem, Mendelssohn's own arrangement of his first symphony. Sara will once more beguile us with the nordic beauty of Grieg as well as Vivaldi's bravura, and join the dazzling MPT for a Shostakovich song cycle.
